The Soul Halloween store nearest to Kotaku's office is in a
brilliantly lit storm cellar. The dividers are concrete, and the inside of the
store is a free accumulation of brief racks. All aspects of this store is
packed with ensembles, either individual parts like wigs or facepaint, or whole
outfits in a plastic holder. As I sneak close to the kids' Fortnite segment, I
catch two children contending with their folks about whether they can be
Fortnite skins for Halloween.
"I said I needed a Brite Aircraft ensemble," says
one of the children, a little blonde young lady, to her mom. Her
companion—whose name I learned was Max when his mom rebuked him by name for
squeezing every one of the catches on a toy weapon—grabbed a Float veil, just
for his mother to guide him to return it.
"You know the issue with a full face cover," she
let him know, "You never need to wear it for the entire night."
Fortnite Halloween ensembles are fantastically prominent.
When I contacted Soul, the main organization that sells formally authorized
Fortnite ensembles, they wouldn't give me definite numbers yet said that these
outfits are taking off the racks. In the wake of visiting a store, I trust it.
Not exactly a moment after I strolled into the store, I kept running into a
confounded father attempting to discover a Snuggle Group Pioneer cover. In
inquiring about this new pattern, I've gotten messages from guardians and instructors
depicting something very similar: kids need to be Fortnite skins for Halloween,
regardless of whether their folks aren't as into the thought.
